The Best Buyer Cover Letter Tips

By Natalie Boyle, REALTOR®, Founder of Verso Homes (DRE #01329012)

If you’ve ever been in a bidding war with other buyers interested in the same house, you know how important a cover letter is. It can easily be the deciding factor in who the seller chooses. Since they’re so important, here are my top tips to make yours stand out!

1. Make It Personal & Build a Connection

Let the seller know why this home is perfect for you. Describe how you’ll enjoy their backyard or picture your children playing on the lawn—small personal touches go a long way.

2. Share a Bit About Yourself

Sellers want to feel connected to the people buying their home. Share a bit about your job, family, or hobbies so they can envision you living there.

3. Highlight Your Favorite Features

Everyone loves a compliment—mention the bright, spacious kitchen if you’re a cook, or how you’ll spend summers in that backyard pool. It shows you’ve really fallen in love with their house.

4. Close with Gratitude

End by thanking the seller for the opportunity to make an offer. A sincere “thank you” can leave a warm final impression.

A well-written cover letter can persuade a seller to choose you. Use these tips to craft a thoughtful, memorable note and secure your dream home!
