Aliso Viejo
Renaissance ClubSport in Aliso Viejo is a unique gym-resort hybrid that truly caters to families. Having been a member there for several years, I can attest to the top-tier amenities — from a 25-yard lap pool and kids’ splash pad to basketball and pickleball courts. The kids’ childcare program, Kids World, offers up to three hours of free daily care, giving parents peace of mind while they work out.
What sets ClubSport apart is its community vibe. They host family nights with kids eating free, parents’ date nights with supervised kids’ activities, and seasonal camps — making it much more than just a gym. The on-site Citrus Fresh Grill also makes it easy to grab healthy meals with the whole family.
Pro Tip: Take advantage of the free childcare hours early in your membership to make the most of your workouts and relax by the pool with your family.
Life Time Laguna Niguel is a fitness powerhouse — an all-in-one destination where luxury meets family fun. As a current member, I love the massive indoor/outdoor pools with water slides and splash pads, multiple fitness studios offering diverse classes, and a full-service spa. The Kids Academy offers childcare and fitness classes for kids from 3 months to 11 years old, making it a dream for parents who want their little ones active and engaged.
Life Time feels like a city devoted to wellness — complete with basketball courts, climbing walls, a cafe, and a spa. The only downside is the higher cost, but for the complete family fitness experience, it’s worth every penny.
Equinox is the luxury boutique gym known for its sleek design, elite trainers, and upscale vibe. While not as family-centered as Renaissance or Life Time, Equinox offers a Kids Club for children under 7, providing short-term childcare during workouts.
For parents who want a high-end personal fitness experience with occasional childcare needs, Equinox is an excellent choice. It’s less of a family recreation hub and more of a focused fitness club with luxurious amenities like steam rooms, a rooftop running track, and a spa.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option with a strong community vibe, the Laguna Niguel Family YMCA offers excellent childcare, pools, and youth programs for a fraction of the cost.
For a straightforward gym with some childcare, 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport locations near Aliso Viejo also provide pools and Kids Clubs, though with less luxury and community events.
